Meet Toby Yurek

Thaddeus "Toby" Yurek III moved to Henderson in 1988 and has considered Nevada home ever since. After graduating from Valley High School in 1991, he intended to join the ministry and earned a bachelor's degree in Church Growth with an emphasis in Preaching from Hope International University. However, feeling called to follow in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, Toby joined the Henderson Police Department in 1995 as a Police Officer.

Toby Stands for Nevada

Public Safety

The safety of our state is my priority. The recent national trends to defund police will be met with a robust commitment to fully train and equip law enforcement personnel with the tools needed to maintain law and order and to keep our communities safe through common sense legislation.

Economy

A healthy community empowers its residents to achieve a robust quality of life. As a business owner with fewer than 100 employees, I know the negative impact that government overreach and mandates have on small and medium-sized businesses. I will work to revitalize our economy by encouraging policies that assist these businesses and fight to keep our taxes low. Creating new industries, more job opportunities and greater prospects for our existing businesses will help our state flourish.

Education

Creating more school choice opportunities for parents and students is vital to our state’s future. The pandemic disrupted the routines of life for our children. As schools shut down, many of our children experienced great stress and mental health issues and the widening of achievement gaps. Substantial teacher shortage has brought on burnout, complicating an already unstable educational system. Parents and students deserve both answers and options. I will work to find achievable solutions that require accountability from our school officials and opportunity for our families.

Constitutional Rights

Our individual freedoms must be protected. Recent reforms by the majority party have damaged small businesses and Nevada’s families. We must reclaim the governor’s emergency powers and return rightful power to Nevada’s people. I commit to protect our citizens from this tyranny and make sure our government follows the rule of law.
